This 5-day itinerary is a taster of the wonderful primate experiences that Uganda offers. You will spend your time between Kibale Forest for the chimpanzees, and Bwindi National Park for the mountain gorillas. As well as these fascinating primates, the bird life will also excel above your expectations!

1

Arrive into Entebbe, Uganda

Met on arrival in Entebbe and transferred to No.5 Boutique Hotel for 1 night on a B&B basis

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, Uganda

After breakfast, transferred to the domestic airport to fly to Kibale National Park (approximately 1.5 hour flight). In the afternoon, you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale Forest National Park which are the Chimpanzees. The forest has one of the highest diversity of primates in Africa totaling 13 species including the Black and White colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkey and Grey-cheecked Mangabey, Red Tailed Monkey, Bush Babies and Pottos. Overnight in Ndali Lodge on a full board basis.

Bwindi National Park, Uganda

Transferred to the airstrip to fly to Bwindi National Park (approx. 30-minute flight). The park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This fascinating mountain forest hosts chimpanzees and spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including Blue-throated Broadbill, bar-tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. Overnight in Bwindi Lodge on a full board basis.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park, Uganda

This morning you will get up early and go on a gorilla trek! Trekking the Mountain Gorillas is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on Earth! The trek will take between 2 and 6 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. Overnight in Bwindi Lodge on a full board basis.

Back to Entebbe, head home

Transferred to the airstrip to fly to Entebbe and connect onto international flights home.
