Review

Lake Manze Camp is set right in the heart of the best game area in the Selous, and is, arguably, one of the best value options in Africa! Set up around 4 years ago on an elephant run it has simply gone from strength to strength and, based on our ratings system, where the most expensive is not necessarily the best, this definitely ticks all of the boxes as far as we are concerned!

Location

Lake Manze Camp is what a "roughing it" camp is all about. They originally chose the location of the camp, on the shores of Lake Manze, for the prolific game that is resident in the area. In the camp itself they regularly have bull elephant wandering through, munching on the palm nuts that fall in-between the tents.

Rooms

The tents themselves are simple with running water, showers and comfy double/twin beds in each. They also have a verandah area out at the front from which to watch the elephants and the world go by. There are not real frills to talk of, but they have just what you need to make the most of this stunning area.

Layout

Again, the communal areas are fairly simple and the food, likewise, is wholesome rather than gourmet....but this all just adds to the charm of the place. The focus in Lake Manze Camp is on the experience of the game and the service. All of the staff are really welcoming and friendly and, at the end of the hard day out in the bush, it is great to be able to relax with a G&T around the camp fire....this is what being out in the bush is all about!
