South Luangwa National Park

Zambia Adventure Holidays

Zambia is a country full of adventure. The national parks are home to an array of wildlife including large numbers of the top predators such as leopard, lion and African wild dog. What makes a Zambia so unique is that you can view the wildlife from a vehicle, a boat, a canoe, or on foot! On top of the that, Livingstone city is the base of Victoria Falls which is one of the starting or finishing destinations in a Zambia itinerary. For those looking for an adventurous holiday in Zambia, we have put together a bit more information for you to have a read through…

Kafunta River Lodge

Kafuna River Lodge was opened in the South Luangwa National Park by Ron and Anke Cowan in 1998. The camp sits outside of the national park on the other side of the river, but its private crossing points have meant that guests at Kafunta can easily get across to the plains of the national park.

Flatdogs Camp

As the closest camp to the Mfuwe Gate outside of the South Luangwa National Park, Flatdogs Camp is not only conveniently placed, but also one of the favourite camps for those on a lower budget. It homes a range of accommodation to suit all, from classic canvassed tents to treehouses built between African ebony trees.

Luwi Camp

Luwi is the most northerly and westerly camp of the Norman Carr/ Time & Tide portfolio. As a result, it is the most remote and secluded. The camp itself has 5 tented suites and is opened only between May and October. Two amazing features bring Luwi even more to life - it has a wildlife hide which overlooks the lagoon and it is possible to sleep out under the stars!

Nsolo Camp

Renowned for its ‘barefoot luxury’ experience, Nsolo is a bushcamp that focuses on incredible walking safaris with stunning and authentic safari accommodation. Located on the banks of the remote and seasonal Luwi River, this camp works perfectly combined with the sister properties in the Norman Carr portfolio including Mchenja and Chinzombo.

Luangwa Safari House

Built in 2005, the Luangwa Safari House is a private house full of charm, originality and luxury. It is a four-bedroom house with an exquisite open-plan living area and private pool. The dining and safari experience is all on a private basis so the Luangwa Safari House is the perfect choice for large families or friends.

Kakuli Camp

Perched above the Luangwa River, Kakuli is a bush camp from the Norman Carr/ Time and Tide portfolio. The camp is comprised of large suites which are all beautifully open-plan, with the front of the room open to the wilderness and the bathroom open-air. The guiding is fantastic, the service is great and the location is prime!

Mchenja Camp

Mchenja Camp is part of the Norman Carr Bushcamp portfolio which works perfectly in a stand-alone itinerary, or combined with the more luxurious camp of Chinzombo for example. The camp sits between an ebony tree forest and the Luangwa River in the Nsefu sector – the perfect base for watching herds of elephant crossing the river!

Chinzombo

As the flagship Norman Carr property in South Luangwa, Chinzombo goes above and beyond in terms of its luxury accommodation. Sat on the curve of the Luangwa River, Chinzombo and its six spacious villas offer panoramic views overlooking the frequent wildlife that visit the river.
