About the location
The lodge is sat on a small private island in the middle of the River Nile in the south-eastern part of Uganda. It is near the town of Jinja which is a great place to end your trip as it offers a “water experience” instead of the usual “beach end” of a safari. Jinja is one of the sources of the River Nile and offers some great experiences on the water.

lodge Layout
As it sits on its own solid rock peninsular island, you have to get a small boat across from the mainland to Lemala Wildwaters. This is the first part of the adventure.
The whole lodge is built up on a wooden platform so you walk through the trees on a raised platform until you get to the large open-plan main area. The rooms are all set along the wooden walkway, offering views of each side of the river.

Lemala Wildwaters Accomodation
The ten rooms are absolutely stunning – they are definitely on par with the Lemala brand (sister camps in Tanzania). The cottages are huge in size, offering an open plan feel, with a large bed, minibar area and a day bed. The en-suite bathroom is very large with a huge double shower and unique interior. The best thing about the room is the private veranda at the back of the cottage. It is a large veranda, with a sofa area, a free-standing bath and a view of either side of the River Nile. These verandas are surrounded by vegetation so you have a private experience if you want to use the outdoor bath. Do see Best Safaris & Holidays on this page.
Wildlife & Activities at Lemala Wildwaters
As the lodge sits in the middle of the River Nile, there are plenty of water activities on offer. You can do white water rafting (either a half or full day tour) which is a great experience.
Boat trips, sunset cruises and day trips to the town of Jinja are also available. Lemala Wildwaters has a fantastic spa with two in-house masseuses, which can be done at the spa, or set up in your room.
