Where to Stay

Ndali Lodge

from $630 per person per night for 2026/27

Full of history and charm, this lodge is home away from home
Ndali Lodge, Aerial view, Kibale National Park, Uganda

Back in the 1920’s, the lodge and its estate was part of a large-scale tea plantation. Today, Ndali Lodge sits on a huge area of stunning landscapes, views, banana plantations, coffee terraces and of course, tea plantations. The lodge is a great base for visiting Kibale Forest (for the chimpanzees), and those who are looking for a couple of days of authentic, relaxing and homely accommodation.

A very homely and colonial feel

If you don’t like pet dogs, do not stay here

About the location

Ndali Lodge is close to Kibale National Park in the south-west of Uganda. It takes around 45-60 minutes to get from the lodge to the park headquarters of Kibale, which is your starting point for a chimpanzee trek.

The lodge sits high up, with spectacular views either side of the lakes. It is a good place to be based if you are going onto Queen Elizabeth National Park afterwards as it sits between Kibale and Queen Elizabeth NP.

Do see Parks & Regions on this page.

lodge Layout

The lodge has a homely and colonial feel to it. As you enter the lodge, you are greeted by the owner’s friendly dogs (currently four of them), who live at the lodge.

The first thing you see is the beautiful garden and the infinity swimming pool which looks out to the Rwenzori Mountains. The main house has areas for relaxing, reading and eating. Further down the gardens, along a pathway, are the rooms which are spread out well.

Do see our new Ndali Lodge Picture Gallery further down this page.

Ndali Lodge Accomodation

The rooms at Ndali Lodge are simple but effective. The stone cottages are a good size and include a comfortable bed, a well-appointed en-suite bathroom and a veranda in the garden. You can include extra beds for children if you have a family travelling together and the lodge is relatively compact which is good.

Do see Best Safaris & Holidays on this page.

Wildlife & Activities at Ndali Lodge

The main attraction of Ndali Lodge is that you can access both Kibale National Park (for the chimpanzees) and Queen Elizabeth National Park (for a safari experience and to see the tree-climbing lions in Ishasha) relatively easily via road.

The lodge also has a variety of walks, trails and activities to do around the lodge, such as hiking, walking around the lake and kayaking.
