Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel

This boutique hotel sits on the edge of the Volcanoes National Park, in the town of Kinigi. This town is at the foothill of the park entrance and headquarters, so from an accessibility point of view, the hotel makes the perfect base from which to visit the gentle giants that are the mountain gorillas.

Located in the grounds of the beautifully-kept gardens and the inviting pool, are 13 stone chalets and one deluxe cottage. The main lodge has a separate bar, dining room and lounge area for guests to enjoy at all times of the day. The beautiful gardens home a pool, a massage hut, a sauna and a steam room for those looking to completely relax.

Typically Rwandese in style, the stone cottages each have an en-suite bathroom and outdoor seating with views out onto the surrounding volcanoes mountain range. The design of the rooms are basic but offer everything that is required for a good night’s sleep after a day of trekking and excitement.

Its location, on the outskirts of the national park, invites almost all guests (over 15 years) to trek and track the mountain gorillas of Rwanda. The lodge also offers bike riding, trekking to see the golden monkeys in the bamboo forest and canoe trips through the Rwandan countryside, at an additional cost. Activities can be decided on the day, and facilities at the lodge allow guests, if they want, to happily spend the day relaxing.
