About the location
Tongabezi lodge is located around 20 kilometres upstream from Victoria Falls. It has a great history behind it as it was first started by two English guys named William Ruck Keene and Ben Parker. Over the years, it has undergone plenty of refurbishment and “modernization” but it has definitely been a trend-setter for the other properties in the Victoria Falls area.

There are a variety of accommodation options at Tongabezi Lodge: 5 river cottages and 6 individual houses which have their own unique character and style: the nut house, the tree house, the bird house, the honeymoon house, the dog house and the garden house.
The lodge itself has a large communal area for dining and lounging, a swimming pool, a gym, a small library, a spa and a look-out which is a multi-level wooden structure. The Lookout and Hangout were conceived as the ultimate chill out zones perched on the edge of the Zambezi River.

Tongabezi Accomodation
The whole décor of the lodge is afrocentric. The river cottages are very spacious, with high thatched roofs and wide, private verandas overlooking the Zambezi River. They have everything you need in there; large beds with mosquito nets, comfortable sofas and lounge areas, a desk, a fan, well-appointed en-suite bathrooms and a private veranda overlooking the river.

Wildlife & Activities at Tongabezi
There are plenty of activities on offer for guests staying at Tongabezi. You can head out to Victoria Falls by a vehicle and this is usually a full day excursion. Guests can also do a couple of river activities, such as canoeing down the Zambezi, taking a sunset cruise, go out for island picnic lunches, fishing trips and many more.
