Where to Stay

Siwandu Camp

from $995 per person per night for 2026/27

A great camp that offers good value for money

The first of the camps catering to the top end of the market, LABA LABA Siwandu Camp (formerly Selous Safari Camp) offers great value for money and is ideal for those that want this level of luxury and service but without the price tag. Comparatively, it arguably doesn't live up to the safari standards of somewhere like Beho Beho, or the visual beauty of Sand Rivers, but this is definitely in the running!

Good location, great tented accommodation, good value

May not suit hardcore safari-heads

About the location

Set just back from the banks of the Rufiji, Siwandu Camp is a luxury tented camp that offers great value for money and is definitely the real deal as far as the game and overall experience is concerned.

The area that it is in, the Siwandu region, is known for its good game and, in particular, leopard sightings. On top of this, they have access to a good section of the Rufiji, which allows clients the opportunity to go out onto the river to have a look at hippo and elephant.

Do see Parks & Regions on this page.

camp Layout

Made up of the Siwandu main camp (9 tents) and Siwandu Private Camp (with a further 4) there are quite a few options on offer in the Siwandu Camp.

The main areas are well thought out with the main restaurant and lounge areas being up on stilts, allowing for great views out to the River and beyond. Combined with a friendly group of staff and good guides from the area, LABA LABA Siwandu Camp is certainly one of the top 3 in the park at the moment.

Siwandu Camp Accomodation

The tents themselves are vast and feature flush loos and brass fittings throughout and, with their design being such that, once you are inside it is all enclosed, it means that you don’t have to worry about the midnight dash!

Set with plenty of space between them and all looking out to Lake Siwandu in the distance, this really gives a sense of being in this stunning setting all alone!

Do see Best Safaris & Holidays on this page.

Wildlife & Activities at Siwandu Camp

One of the real high points over the last few years of the camp has been the reliability of great game all on the doorstep. The camp even goes so far as to tell clients to have a bit of a lie in as the game comes to you!

Offering walking safaris, game drives, pontoon lunches and boating safaris, the camp will make sure that you are not left at a loose end at any point!
