About the location
Southwest of Nairobi and a 45-minute drive from Nairobi’s international airport, Giraffe Manor is set in the indigenous forest in the Langatta suburb.
Its location and interaction with the giraffes makes it a well suited property to stay in for a night or two to tease you into your African safari. The nearby neighbourhood Karen, offers other animal interaction experiences and conservation projects, such as the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

camp Layout
The manor, with eight rooms and two suites, can accommodate up to 26 guests. Sat in a large area of bushy forest, Giraffe Manor has worked hard to create a spacious and airy feel to the property, offering guests leafy neat gardens, sunny courtyards, private suite verandahs, and a number of other open spaces to walk and relax in. Hence when it has full occupancy, which it regularly does, the manor rarely feels hectic or overly loud.

Giraffe Manor Accomodation
Giraffe Manor has eight double or twin rooms (named Betty, Lynn, Arlene, Daisy, Jock, Marlon, Helen and Kelly) and two family suites, both sleeping up to five. The named rooms each have their own distinct personality through style, art, colour and antique furniture. The rooms all have tall windows and come with a pot of complimentary giraffe nuts, the perfect combination for some friendly giants to pop their heads through and say hi!

Wildlife & Activities at Giraffe Manor
We are not normally proponents of “captive” animal interactions and, as such, Giraffe Manor is a difficult property for us as the main draw for visitors is to spent some time in close proximity with these lofty and graceful animals.
This being said, the nearby Rothschild giraffe centre is well worth a visit as is the nearby Daphne Sheldrick’s elephant sanctuary for orphaned elephants so there is still plenty on offer.
