The manor was built in the 1970’s as a private residence on what was once Blixen’s coffee plantation. When the family decided to transform it into a boutique hotel, they were keen to maintain the same level of intimacy, hence the 11 boutique rooms all inside the manor.
House of Waine offers a range of amenities, and provides personal and top-quality service from the moment you arrive. The extensive grounds of the hotel also home a swimming pool, pool bars, meeting and conference rooms and a dining area.

House of Waine Accomodation
Each of the rooms vary in design and style, depending on what the room name translates to in English. For example, the “Ziwa” room has an abundance of turquoise colours and fabrics, reflecting its translation as “Lake”, and the “Tembo” room, a mix of greys and blacks with subtle ornaments reflecting its translation of “elephant”.
The hotel also has one large suite, called Malaika, which represents the mother of the family, known for her grace, elegance and her love for the colour black, which the room expresses. The rooms are all en-suite and the bathrooms are clean, modern and spacious.
