Ol Malo House

Ol Malo is set on a private ranch in the northern province of Laikipia. Its position on top of an impressive cliff top provides the most spectacular backdrop of the escarpment and the vast plateau. The area is proud to have a number of resident game, with the opportunity to also see less familiar species, such as the grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffes and Somali ostriches.

With warm hospitality of the Francombe’s son and wife, Andrew and Chyulu, Ol Malo House was built with exclusive groups and families in mind. Although only a five-minute drive or 15-minute walk from the lodge, Ol Malo house is completely self-sufficient, with its own infinity pool, kitchen, dining and lounge area, roaring fireplace, and beautiful quirky bedrooms.

Ol Malo House has three en-suite double bedrooms and separate cottages to accommodate, in total, 12 guests at ease. The rooms shadow the design and décor of the lodge but adds additional quirky features to make it fun with so much character; the crocodile bath and the spiral staircase are winners!

Ol Malo is very activity-based, and no wonder with a huge amount on offer, including camel riding, horse riding, game drives (both day and night), game walks, mountain biking, ranch life experiences and tubing. Ol Malo’s relationship with the local people allows cultural visits to the villages and homes of the Samburu people to see their way of living. As additional activities, fly camping and helicopter rides, piloted by Andrew, can be arranged.
