About the location
Gibb’s Farm is located approximately a 45 minute drive from the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, off the main road past the town of Karatu. This region is famed for its verdant farmlands and the property itself still produces much of its own coffee, vegetables and livestock, for which the lunches here have become famous. With sweeping views out across the highlands, we can see why.

lodge Layout
Each of the cosy and interesting cottages nestles into the overflowing flower gardens and gives the sense of being in a hidden sanctuary. The main area commands the best of the views at the top of the hill, but the layout in general is very comfortable and provides a cool respite from the hot lowlands to the East and West.

Gibb’s Farm Accomodation
Little has changed in Gibb’s Farm over the years and for good reason. The cottages were built of sturdy stuff and have, over the years, retained their original charm with a very homely feel to them, plenty of space and aspect to the gardens.

Wildlife & Activities at Gibb’s Farm
Gibb’s Farm is, very much, used as a stopping or basing point for many on the way through to the Ngorongoro Crater or returning from the Serengeti. As such, it is more about relaxing in the gardens or settling in for a lengthy lunch rather than being overly active. The farm is well worth a visit to see how their produce is gotten.
