About the location
Manta Resort is situated in the far north-west of Pemba, a relatively undeveloped island, sat to the north of Zanzibar Island. With few properties to choose from on Pemba, Manta Resort is a good choice for those looking for something completely remote, secluded and special.
Pemba’s northern coastline offers exceptionally clear water for snorkelling among reef fish, rays and vibrant coral formations, while boat excursions reach reefs where green turtles, dolphins, reef sharks and rays are regularly seen. Diving trips can access deeper coral walls where manta rays and, in the right season, humpback whales may pass offshore. Kayaking and paddle‑boarding are often possible in calm conditions, and the surrounding coastal forest supports varied birdlife.
resort Layout
Manta Resort has a total of 18 rooms (seafront villas and garden rooms), and of course, the extraordinary underwater room. The room types vary in size, location and design – the seafront villas are much more spacious and are located closer to the ocean, and the garden rooms are set further back among the gardens.

Manta Resort Accomodation
Manta Resort prides itself on its eco-credentials with the establishment of the offshore marine park being one of their very proudest achievements to date.
With this eco-focus, they have also spared no expense in designing and building a property which offers both excellent quality (easily up at the 5 star level) while keeping their carbon footprint as small as possible. What results are spacious and airy rooms with views out to the ocean and plenty of comfort.
