About the location
Emerson Spice is located in the heart of Stonetown’s characteristic alleyways. If you want to be in the midst of the action, this is the place to be! Its sister hotel, Emerson Hurumzi, is a minute’s walk apart, and shares a similar design and idea to Emerson Spice.
Stone Town’s proximity to the harbour enables rapid access to snorkelling and diving excursions where dolphins, green turtles, reef sharks and rays are regularly encountered, with seasonal chances of humpback whales offshore. Longer boat trips can reach deeper coral slopes where manta rays and larger marine species occasionally appear. Sunset cruises add a romantic, atmospheric way to experience the coastline’s wildlife.
Even with its appeal, there are minor caveats: the heritage architecture brings narrow stairways and enclosed spaces, and the lively urban environment may feel too energetic for guests seeking quiet coastal seclusion.
hotel Layout
The boutique hotel has 11 rooms which are all located on different floors, with a steep and charming staircase connecting them. At the top, is the famous rooftop restaurant of Emerson Spice, which in itself is a reason to stay here! Food and drinks are served to guests here throughout the day, who sit on pillows and cushions on the floor.
