Oliver’s Tented Camp

Set in the furthest reaches of the park, not far from Silale Swamp, gives Oliver’s once of the best locations of any of the camps in the park.

This region has a huge range of different topographies with the swampland providing a cooling break for the animals from the midday sun and so it is, very much a mecca for animals of all types while being a long way from the busier northern reaches of the park.

Set on the top of a small ridge, each of the thatched rooms is allowed plenty of distance from the other and so gives you the sense of true wilderness that is typical of this area of the park.

Each of these permanent thatched rooms, with tented sides, offers great views out to the surrounding plains and is a cool and tranquil place to spend a few days.

For those that prefer not to shower under the stars the nearby Little Oliver’s may be a wiser choice as the main camp only has outdoor showers but, other than this, they couldn’t be bettered.

The name of the game in Oliver’s is the walking and driving in the area. The location of the camp is perfect for both activities and, with plenty of good game in residence, there is never a dull moment. A new addition to the Tarangire is night driving which is also on offer from the camp.
