About the location
Chikoko Camp is sat in the northern area of South Luangwa National Park, which boasts seclusion and exclusivity. The camp overlooks the Chikoko River which is seasonal and dry throughout most of the year.
The main emphasis of this camp is walking safaris and many of the guests staying here walk between this camp and the other bush camp, Crocodile Camp.

camp Layout
The camp is accessed on foot, so the camp will definitely feel wild and remote! The main area is a simple thatched structure, featuring a comfortable lounge and dining area and of course, a safari campfire. The accommodation is comprised of three rooms/chalets so the camp is intimate and cosy.

Chikoko Tree Camp Accomodation
Chikoko Camp has three double-storey reed chalets that are raised above the ground and nestled in the ebony trees. They are all double-storey chalets, with a conventional bathroom on the lower level, and a bedroom on the upper level, boasting views of the seasonal Chikoko River. The accommodation feels very rustic but with running water, flushing toilets and mosquito nets, it has everything you need for an authentic safari stay!

Wildlife & Activities at Chikoko Tree Camp
Chikoko Camp is part of the Chikoko walking trail, so activities are exclusive to walking only. The bush walks are done in the morning and afternoon to avoid the midday sun and give guests time to relax and enjoy lunch.
An experienced guide and an armed ranger will accompany you on the bush walks, and rather than intense hikes, they are gentle strolls through various landscapes with an attention to animals, flora and fauna.
