About the location
Kakuli is located north of the Mfuwe area and is perched above the Luangwa River. This area has exceptional game viewing and is further north to avoid the vehicles that the Mfuwe area attracts. There is a resident pride of lion named the Kakuli pride that area regularly seen. An old male lion called Norman, who is calm and not shy, is often seen near the camp.

camp Layout
The main area has a lounge and dining area combined, with an extended veranda overlooking the Luangwa River. Just below the main area is a hide which is hidden with natural reeds to keep it inconspicuous. The rooms are spread across the river and carry on the same open and natural theme throughout.

Kakuli Camp Accomodation
There are 4 tented suites and 1 family suite (which has 2 bedrooms and bathrooms interconnected). The suites are beautiful open-plan, with the front of the room open to the wilderness and the bathroom open-air. In the evening, the room is closed up and the mosquito net is draped, making it feel cosy and secure.

Wildlife & Activities at Kakuli Camp
This area north of Mfuwe has fantastic game which can be seen on a vehicle or on foot. Kakuli Camp is also open in the “green season” between January and April and is combinable with their sister camp, Chinzombo, in a “river and rainbow” itinerary. This is a particular good time for keen birders and photographers.
