About the location
Located just around the corner from the village affords Essque the “best of both worlds”, the option of tranquility or, for those with itchier feet, the option of heading to the village for a bit of pool at a beach bar.
The northern coastline provides clear, calm water suited to snorkelling over healthy coral formations where reef fish, rays and other marine species are frequently seen. Diving excursions are widely available in this part of the island, and seabirds often circle the nearby cliffs. Gentle marine activities such as kayaking or reef‑edge snorkelling offer easy wildlife encounters for guests seeking low‑effort adventure.
The only drawback to this location is, as mentioned above, that they are on the coral ledge that runs around this northern part of the island and, as such, at high tide the beach becomes ocean once more.
hotel Layout
Due to the vast makuti there is 2 layouts in the main area, the upstairs and the down stairs both featuring different views and different aspects with a couple of great bars and dining areas.
For the rooms, Essque have used clever, mature, planting in order to disguise the layout of the suites which, while not the largest plot, has allowed it to feel like you are totally isolated.

Essque Zalu Accomodation
Beautiful, if simple rooms, Essque Zalua uses artwork and neutral colour schemes to makes something comfortable yet not overly flamboyant. As they confess, the idea is not for the room to be the reason to come here but the communal areas, service and dining.
They do have everything that you would look for however with a shower, Aspen toiletries, seating area with plasma screen.
